The East-end of Montreal could become home to a new solar panel plant project valued at as much as $2.3-billion.
According to a report in La Presse, British company, Solargise, would like to build and set-up shop on the grounds of the Anjou Metropolitan Golf Club. It's estimated that the project could create as many as 1,000 jobs, with construction possibly getting underway before the end of this year.
So far, Solargise has the support of the Quebec government, but not yet that of the city. Last spring the City of Montreal announced the expansion of a park in that area.
Solargise already has its feet on the groud in India, where it has launched commercial operations and unveiled plans to develop 2 gigawatt of solar power plant in the coming years.
