A 7-year-old boy is recovering after being bitten by what Verdun's borough mayor is calling a "pit bull-type" dog.
It's not clear, however, exactly what breed of dog it is.
The attack happened at around 10 a.m. Sunday at an apartment on Melrose St. The young victim was the son of the apartment resident's girlfriend.
The boy suffered bite marks to his face, and was rushed to hospital shortly after. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
CTV Montreal is reporting that the dog has been euthanized by the SPCA.
