It's a mobile app called Hopper and it helps find the cheapest prices on flights.
The CEO and co-founder is Frederic Lalonde, who told CTV they're using a lot of data to predict airfares.
"In a given month we will process 300 billion flight prices that were shopped around the world. And with that, we build a forecast that is accurate to up year in advance, to the day, within 5 dollars," said Lalonde.
Quebec's big pension fund manager, Caisse de depot et Placement, has announced a $40-million investment in the app.
Lalonde added the funding will help Hopper compete against more established companies and keep Quebecers employed.
Hopper began operating in early 2016.
It now handles $1 million in flight sales each day, and is adding 1 million users each month.
"The right sector, the right tool, the right target market. So we're quite excited about it," said Christian Dubé, Executive VP of the Caisse de Depot.
