The SouthWest borough is experimenting with snow removal on a portion of the Lachine Canal bicycle path.
A one-kilometre section of the path on the north side of the canal that runs from Richmond Street to Smith Streetwill be cleared of snow as of today.
Borough officials say it's a pilot project to ease access for winter cyclists between Griffintown and Little Burgundy.
Officals will assess the project at a later date with an eye to making the entire 12 kilometre bike path winter bike friendly.
