A Paws-itive end to this cat's long journey.
Baloo sneaked inside a Purolator parcel containing tire rims, and ended up getting sent on a 17-hour road trip to Montreal.
The parcel was sent from Dartmouth, N.S. to Montreal.
"He got under, so he wasn't on top. He had gotten in through the little hole of the rim down into the bottom of the box," said Baloo’s owner Jacqueline Lake.
When the parcel arrive to the Purolator office in Montreal, it got suspicious at the box. Then the driver noticed urine in the back of his vehicle.
The driver then spotted the fleeing feline, and the company called the SPCA.
"They asked if they can bring us the cat to us, of course we said yes. As soon as he came to us, we had him checked by our vets and we've been taking care of him ever since," said Anita Kapuscinska of the Montreal SPCA.
The SPCA used the tracking number from the Purolator parcel to find the cat's owner back in Nova Scotia.
Lake will now be getting her cat back and won't be required to foot a return shipping bill. Volunteers with Freedom Drivers, a non-profit that transports animals from pounds, will take Baloo back home to Nova Scotia.
"To actually have him be okay and coming back to me, I'm so thankful, I'm so thankful," said Lake.
The Montreal SPCA has attached a tracker on Baloo, so the next time he goes missing, he'll be easier to find.
