One of the winter's big charity events is disputing some figures compiled by a watchdog group.
Charity Intelligence says its calculations show the 24 Hours of Tremblant is highly inefficient as a fundraiser, with just 50 cents of each donated dollar going to the recipients, three children's charities.
However, organizers of the team skiing event tell La Presse that the watchdog's method of calculation is flawed, and its numbers show that 75 cents of each dollar goes to the charities, a portion considered respectable in philanthropic circles.
This year's edition of the 24 Hours of Tremblant, held in early December, drew more than 3,330 participants, who collected close to $3.9 million in donations.
