The author of a series of books popular among Francophone teens and pre-teens was convicted yesterday on charges of sexually assaulting one of his young fans.
Maxime Roussy was immediately handcuffed and led away.
A sentencing hearing will be held in January.
Roussy met his victim at the Salon du Livre in 2005 when the then 12 year old girl approached him for an autograph.
Within two years they were engaged in sexual discussions online and on at least nine occasions had met for intimate sexual encounters.
The relationship lasted six years until the victim reported it to police in 2011.
The 40 year old Roussy was convicted of luring a child through the Internet, sexual assault, sexual interference and inviting a minor to touch him in a sexual manner.
