The city of Montreal kicked off St Patrick's Day by going green.
It wasn't an eco-friendly thing; City Hall was lit up in honour of the annual celebration that makes everyone Irish.
There will be plenty of celebrations all around town, this weekend and through the rest of the month, but the big one, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will take over downtown on Sunday.
The 194th edition of the parade will feature more than 3,000 people, nearly two dozen floats and smiles from the thousands of spectators who make up a sea of green that takes over Ste-Catherine St. from Fort to Phillips Square.
The parade, featuring 18-year-old Mary-Lynee Loftus as Queen and Mayor Denis Coderre as grand marshal, will get underway at Noon.
