The city of Montreal says its parking agency, Stationnement Montréal, took in $52.8 million in 2018 — a slight drop from the $53.3 million it made for the city in 2017.
Stationnement Montréal says more people are making use of the P$ Mobile Service app, first rolled out in 2012, to the point where it's now clearly the preferred payment method for street parking.
In 2017, about half of all payments were made using the app. Last year, 65 per cent of payments were.
The agency also says 96 per cent of the app's users who responded to a Léger survey say they use the app regularly, while 88 per cent say they're happy with it.
