A 53-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed Tuesday morning when he was hit by an ambulance in the north-end Villeray district.
Montreal police say at around 6:30 a.m., the victim was travelling south on St. Hubert St. when he was hit by an Urgences Santé ambulance travelling east on Cremazie Blvd.
The ambulance was responding to a non-emergency call and was not flashing its lights or blaring its siren.
The man was treated by paramedics on the scene, and was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The ambulance driver, meantime, was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
