Provincial police are confirming that Nicolas Tsouflidis, the 44-year-old president of Cora's breakfast restaurant chain, was kidnapped for money.
He was abducted from his home in Mirabel on Wednesday night, and was found the following morning at around 6 a.m. along a deserted roadside in Laval's western Ste. Dorothée district.
He was found confused, and tied up with duct tape. He was not injured, though he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Tsouflidis later told investigators his captors had pointed a gun to his temple at one point.
The SQ says they are still looking for at least two suspects who drove a blue car — not a van or a pickup truck, as earlier reports had suggested.
Police also say that the incident has nothing to do with organized crime.
