Premier Philippe Couillard is set to shuffle his cabinet on Monday, and it will feature a return to cabinet for Pierre Moreau, according to several reports.
Moreau is expected to be named the new president of the Treasury Board.
He had previously been Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy under Couillard and Minister for Transport for a year during the time of Jean Charest.
He recently held the position of Education Minister, but on the day he was named to the post, he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance from the National Assembly Red Room.
He was later diagnosed with encephalitis and meningitis and had to take months off to recuperate, returning to politics in late 2016 which was marked with a celebratory brunch in his Chateauguay riding in December.
