The 44-year-old victim of a brazen daylight shooting at a St. Leonard gas station on Thursday had ties to the Hells Angels.
Reports suggest Sebastien Beauchamps was once a member of the Rockers, a Hells Angels affiliate. Court records show he has several drug convictions to his name.
Beauchamps was gunned down at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of an Ultramar gas station at the corner of Langelier and Robert Blvds. He was found sprawled on the ground next to a Jeep Cherokee, and was pronounced dead a short time later in hospital.
Police say at least four other vehicles in the gas station's parking lot were hit by bullets — some driven by passersby — when Beauchamps attempted to fire back at his attacker.
"Three other vehicles have been part of the crossfire that have been exchanged with the suspect and the victim probably but those cars came back on the scene to advise police officer that had been shot by gunfire. So they are involved in the incidents but it's going to be evidence about all those damage that they have on their car and those victims doesn't have any injuries," said police spokesperson Benoit Boisselle.
Police found a weapon at the scene, equipped with a silence, which police believe was the gun used by the killer.
Police have set up a command post at the gas station as their investigation continues.
