Add Paul Anka to the list of stars who won't be performing at Donald Trump's inaugural celebrations.
The 75-year-old Ottawa-born music legend told TMZ.com that despite reports to the contrary, he will not be performing his standard 'My Way' at Trump's inaugural gala on Jan. 20.
"The president-elect is an old friend of mine for 50 years. There was a dialogue to do it. My Way was his favorite song," Anka told the web site. "The backstory of it is, I've been in a custody battle for two years for my son Ethan, and we have a new schedule now, and I'm unable to do it."
Anka insists, however, that his backing out has nothing to do with politics — but wouldn't answer a question from a TMZ.com reporter about whether his views and compatible with those of Trump's.
"You have a better chance getting sunrise past a rooster on that one," he said, laughing.
He also said his singing of 'My Way' would have been Donald and Melania Trump's first dance at the gala.
