Taoufik Moalla no longer has to pay a $149 fine for singing while driving.
He was pulled over by Montreal Police in September 2017 while singing his favorite song, C+C Music Factory's ’90s classic "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)."
Moalla told CTV News at the time that four officers had approached to check inside his car.
"Then they asked me if I screamed. I said no, I was just singing."
Police then fined him $149 for 'screaming in a public place.'
When he told his wife, she said she wasn't surprised.
"She told me, if it was for singing, I'd have given you a ticket for $300," he joked.
Journal de Montreal reports that a Judge has acquitted Moalla.
They write that the judge asked if the ticket issuing officer was present, and when nobody got up, the judge acquitted Moalla immediately.
He tells the Journal, "I pay more attention. I do not sing anymore and my wife is not ready to hear me either. Now it's the kids singing."
