Ericsson closing its information technology and communication center in VaudreuilDorion

Ericsson said some 50 people are affected by the closure of its information technology and communication center in VaudreuilDorion.
Ericsson has announced some 50 people are affected by the closure of its information technology and communication center in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
The giant, state-of-the-art center opened less than a year ago at a cost of over a billion dollars.
The telecom company said cost-cutting is the reason for the closure, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.
In a statement, Vaudreuil-Dorion mayor Guy Pilon says “I’m very disappointed in the situation. I'm very confident that we'll be able to welcome another internationally-renowned company and will make every possible effort to do so. I wish to mention that it has been a pleasure working with Ericsson, and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.”
