Alcohol and speed are believed to have caused a fatal crash on Notre-Dame St. in the Turcot Yards early Monday morning.
According to police, a vehicle carrying four people exited Highway 20 westbound, lost control, collided with the retaining wall and then a lamp post before finally coming to a stop.
A 26-year-old woman in the passenger seat was killed; the two people in the back seat were taken to hospital and are recovering.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene showing signs of intoxication. He may be charged with drinking and driving.
Notre-Dame St. between Angrignon and the Highway 20 ramp is closed in both directions while accident investigators go over the scene.
