Chantal Racette's future as the president of the Montreal blue collar workers union will be decided today.
The union has organized a secret ballot vote on her leadership after receiving a petition signed by almost 700 union members seeking a formal vote asking that Racette and three members of the union executive be dismissed.
The Journal de Montreal says nine of 16 members of the union executive committee also sent letters to the provincial and national divisions of the Canadian Union of Public Employees complaining about Racette's authoritarian leadership.
The 6500 members of the blue collar workers union will be able to cast ballots until 8 p.m. this evening.
