Tuesday is expected to be quite messy and slippery in the Montreal area.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Tuesday afternoon and evening for Montreal, Laval, and the north and south shores.
The weather office is advising people to be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions, and to take necessary safety precautions.
The freezing rain is expected to change back to snow sometime Tuesday night.
Temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing point through Wednesday afternoon — then, a cold front is expected to sweep through the city, bringing with it winds at around 40 to 70 kilometres an hour.
The temperature will then dip to -11 on Wednesday night, accompanied by a few flurries.
By Thursday, sunshine is expected to return — but the high will only reach -8.
For the rest of the week, forecast highs are expected to go no higher than the minus-double digits.
