Bar owners in Quebec are welcoming a change in the law that could allow them to install as many video lottery terminals in their establishments as they want.
Bill 74, which was passed earlier this year, eliminates the previous restriction of five machines per bar licence.
The Journal de Montreal says Loto Quebec will seek ministerial approval for the change.
Bar owners receive a commission of 22% per machine.
There are 11,600 active machines in Quebec and they generated $888 million in revenue last year.
