Greenpeace Canada activists are getting a workout at the Olympic Stadium Thursday morning.
At least three of them began climbing a section of the Big O tower at around 7 a.m., and a half-hour later, they unfurled a banner reading "Stop pipelines. Don't dirty our money."
It's to show opposition to the Trudeau government's move to buy the TransMountain pipeline for $4.5 billion.
"This is a civil disobedience, nonviolent action and the message is for Justin Trudeau," said Greenpeace Canada spokesperson Loujain Kurdi.
Kurdi said the 10 by 25 meter banner will show the growing resistance to pipeline projects and that taxpayer money should be invested in renewable energy.
"They are going to stay up there as long as possible until the message gets through to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau," said Kurdi.
Montreal police say the trio will be arrested and charged with public mischief once they get down.
