Health Canada is advising women who use birth control pills to carefully check the packaging for missing or damaged pills.
The warning comes after continuing complaints of quality issues involving certain prescription birth control pills.
Health Canada says if you do find issues with the package, return the package to the pharmacy for a replacement as soon as possible to avoid missing any doses.
The advisory also applies to doctors who prescribe the pills.
Health Canada says this is a precaution following recent complaints involving Alesse and Alysena birth control pills.
