A hostage situation at a pharmacy in Blainville, north of Montreal, has ended.
A 45 year old man was shot by police after he took an employee hostage.
Quebec's Bureau of Independent Investigations is looking into the shooting.
It says the suspect entered the pharmacy armed with an X-Acto knife, another knife and what appeared to be a gun. The gun was later determined to be a replica.
The man allegedly pointed the weapon at a customer and ordered the person to leave before grabbing a pharmacy employee.
The employee was slightly injured.
