A resident of Laval's western Ste. Dorothée district found a nasty surprise on her front lawn this morning — a banged-up Laval city bus.
Sossy Kervos says she left her home on Chemin du Bord de l'Eau on Wednesday morning to run errands. When she got back, she found the bus, wedged in between a snowbank and her front doorstep.
"I kind of freaked out for a minute, because I was going to park my car and shovel the snow that I didn't shovel from yesterday," Kervos told CJAD 800 News. "It was scary".
The bus left skid marks across several lawns become coming to a stop on Kervos' property. It sustained plenty of front-end damage.
"If I was home at that moment, shovelling snow...who knows?" she said.
No one was injured in the collision.
A spokesperson for Laval's transit authority says the mishap was caused by a collision between the bus and a snowplow, which caused the bus to skid off the street.
Kervos, nonetheless, says she's been concerned with speeding on her street for some time.
"Speeding is not good," she says. "My husband and I have complained. They haven't done anything. Let me tell you, they're going to get a phone call from me."
