A human chain formed Saturday morning around the Parc des Bateliers in Montreal, the last place where Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou was spotted more than three weeks ago.
The rally was meant to support the family of the missing boy.
The boy has not been seen since March 12, when he left his home in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville to go to a friend's house, and never returned home.
He was seen that afternoon in Parc des Bateliers but has not been seen since.
Police have maitained their number-one theory is the boy accidentally fell in the Rivière des Prairies.
The 10-year-old boy's family believes he was abducted.
Ariel's father, Kouadio Frédéric Kouakou, still believes it is possible to find his son alive. Speaking to the small crowd gathered on Saturday, he had a message to whoever could be holding his captive son.
"His family misses him, his little sister, his friends, a lot," Kouakou implored in a stifled voice. "He's missed a lot at his school, by his soccer teacher ... everyone. "
"We have already [pardoned you]," he assured, standing next to his wife.
The couple is offering a $ 100,000 reward to find their son.
Around them, marchers waved placards that read "Ariel, we'll never give up on you" and "Please police, do not let go."
"We believe it: Ariel will come back," his father chanted. "I say this with strong conviction. "
Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou is about four feet eight and weighs about 90 pounds; he has black skin, black eyes and black hair, and he speaks French. At the time of his disappearance, he wore a black hooded coat, gray trousers and yellow shoes.
