The NHL season kicks off on October 12, but in the virtual world it's already over and the Stanley Cup was raised at the Bell Centre.
In its annual NHL video game simulation, developer and publisher Electronic Arts predicted the Montreal Canadiens will make the Stanley Cup Finals, only to lose to the Nashville Predators in six games.
Maybe P.K. Subban will get to skate around the Bell Centre with the Stanley Cup after all.
Some of the other virtual NHL predictions include, the Canadiens finishing second in the Eastern Conference, a healthy Carey Price once again earns himself the honour of top goaltender, winning the Vezina, and newly named Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid leads the Oilers back into the playoffs (albeit barely) and wins both the Hart and Art Ross Trophies.
As always, the EA Sports NHL simulation is just for fun.
Last year the game predicted the Anaheim Ducks would win Lord Stanley's Cup, beating the Canadiens in seven, and we all know how that really ended.
