Projet Montreal councillors Valerie Plante and Sylvain Ouellette say while the city boasts about increased service on metros and overnight buses, one-fifth of bus lines are actually seeing a reduction.
"This is really affecting some really poor areas like in my district in St. Michel," said Ouellette.
But Mayor Denis Coderre says the allegations are nonsensical, especially considering a Projet Montreal sits on the board that approved the transit schedule changes.
"We have to understand how it works, STM. There is a board of administration and those administration, part of them are members of the council and they all vote unanimously and guess what, there's a member from Projet Montreal, what's going on," Coderre said.
The mayor denies the the allegations, saying service is improving.
