Loblaw announced Friday night a recall of "no name" branded chicken nuggets that may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The product was sold across the country. In Quebec, the product has been on sale in Maxi, Maxi & Co., Provigo, Provigo Market, AXEP and Intermarché stores.
The packaging of "No Prescription Chicken Nuggets" recalled as a preventative has been removed from the shelves. It was sold in the 907 g format, has the best date code before the "2019 MA 15", the code "1358M" on the inner packaging and the UPC code 060383896850.
The product should not be consumed, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a statement.
"Foods contaminated with Salmonella do not necessarily have visible spoilage or smell, but can still make you sick," the agency said.
At least one person became sick as a result of the consumption of this product, according to the authorities.
The CFIA has not ruled out the possibility of expanding the recall to other products.
Loblaw says its customers can return the product to its stores for a full refund.
