Longueuil city council voted unanimously on Tuesday night to sell a parcel of land near the St. Hubert airport to Molson Coors for its new brewery.
Late last month, the brewery announced it would be abandoning its longtime production facility on Notre-Dame St. in the eastern part of Old Montreal to build a new facility in Longueuil.
The piece of land, located at the corner of Route de L'Aeroport and Romeo-Vachon St., is over 6 million square feet, and is being sold for $6.8 million. It's located near the Canadian Space Agency and the intersection of Highways 30 and 116.
The new plant is expected to be up and running by 2021.
