The morning after a second road loss in as many nights — a 3-1 loss to the Lightning in Tampa — a prankster showed up outside the Bell Centre and covered the heads of three of the statues depicting Habs legends with paper bags.
The bags — the universal symbol of pro sports fans' shame — appeared on the heads of the statues of Howie Morenz, Jean Beliveau and Guy Lafleur on Friday morning.
A host at CJAD 800's sister station Energie 94.3, Sébastien Trudel, happened to notice them and tweeted out the photos on his personal account.
The Canadiens sit at 16-18-4, eight points out of a playoff spot. They've lost four of six on their current year-end road trip, with one more game to go — Saturday night against the Panthers in Miami.
Their next home game is Jan. 2 against the San Jose Sharks.
