Fire quickly tore through a real estate office in Saint-Sauveur early on Christmas morning. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation and arson has not been ruled out.
According to the local fire service, at about 2:00AM a call was made to 9-1-1 about a garbage fire. When firefighters arrived minutes later, the two-storey Royal LePage commercial building on Main Street was completely engulfed in flames.
The intensity of the fire created fears that it might spread to nearby houses, so neighbours were evacuated as a precaution.
