Friends and family are mourning the death of a Quebec man in Thailand.
The Bangkok Post reports that a 26-year-old Canadian tourist drowned during a New Year's Eve party at Haad Rin beach on the island of Koh Phangan, which was attended by about 20,000 people.
On a Facebook page set up to mourn the loss of Clinton Munkittrick, family say the native of North Hatley in the Eastern Townships was traveling with his brother Patrick, who is believed to be the relative Global Affairs has said is getting consular assistance.
Global Affairs wouldn't identify the person or the details surrounding the death.
