A 25 year old man is in hospital after he was shot at least once in the Plateau Sunday morning.
The incident occurred outside a bar near the corner of St-Laurent and Prince-Arthur at around 3:30.
Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant says officers located the victim on the street. He was rushed to hospital but so far there is no word on his condition.
Witnesses tell investigators an altercation involving a group of people escalated to the point where an individual shot the victim in the upper body.
So far, police have not made any arrests. A perimeter has been established on St-Laurent between Prince-Arthur and Sherbrooke Street.
