Montreal's Greek community is holding a benefit concert Sunday afternoon to help victims of the deadly wildfire in Greece.
Fire officials in Greece raised the death toll from the wildfire that raged through a coastal area east of Athens to 91 and reported that 25 people were missing six days after blaze.
Ther 4-hour multi-lingual show, which goes until 5PM, is being held at the Greek community center in Outremont, on Wilderton avenue, corner Cote Ste Catherine.
It features Greek and non-Greek music.
"The recent events in Greece have marked pretty well everyone here in Montreal and around the world, whether they're of Greek origin or not. You can't look at those graphic pictures of people charred alive, young kids, 8,9, 10 years-old, burned alive and not react with compassion. Say to yourself, what is that we could do or I can do to make a difference?", said John Theodosopoulos, one of the show organizers.
