The city's former bus station has apparently become so dangerous that the building's owner - the Société des infrastructures du Québec (SIQ) - will close it in the coming days. The building had become a place for loitering and illegal drug transactions.
A spokesperson for the SIQ said "it was the most viable solution for both the public and the police," which have been called upon to intervene on a pretty regular basis.
The old bus station has been unoccupied for five years and serves as a pedestrian-crossing between Berri-UQAM station and the new terminal.
