Snow removal in Montreal begins Sunday evening at 7.
The city said 2,200 pieces of equipment and 3,000 workers will be deployed, tackling major streets first, which should take some 36 hours.
Spokesman Phillipe Sabourin said the entire operation, which will take as many a six days to complete, will be mader easier if drivers respect the orange no-parking signs.
Sabourin, who's urging residents to use public transit, if possible, on Monday as the operation begins, said each time as car has to be towed because the owner didn't respect the no parking signs, it slows down the snow removal process.
Residents can consult the city's website, ville.montreal.qc.ca., for free parking during snow removal.
They can also use the mobile application Info-Neige MTL to check when snow on their street will be removed.
