Montreal saw a boost in tourism last year, building on the gains of 2015.
The city welcomed 10.2-million visitors in 2016, an increase of 3.5 percent over 2015, according to Tourism Montreal.
Visitor spending rose at at even faster pace, increasing by nearly 6-percent to a total of $3.3-billion.
The number of visitors from China more than doubled in 2016. The increase over the tally for 2015 was 104.7 percent.
Montreal also saw more visitors from Mexico, in part because visa requirements were relaxed. In December, the number of tourists from Mexico was nearly 99 percent higher than in December of 2015.
