A 42-year old woman is scheduled to appear in court again next month after being charged with the second-degree murder of a newborn child.
Eugenia Tofan Bunu was charged via videoconference on Thursday while at the jail in east end Rivieres-des-Prairies.
Ambulance technicians arrived at a home in NDG last summer and found a newborn that wasn't breathing.
The baby was taken to hospital, but died a few days later.
Police investigated the case and this year and recommended charges against the child's mother.
