Three years after fire ripped through the Linguini restaurant near Highway 40 in Baie D'Urfe, what was left of the building has finally been demolished and carted away.
The Montreal Gazette reports a local construction company, Manning Construction, received a $14,500 contract to carry out the demolition and truck away the debris for recycling.
A few items were salvaged from the rubble, including some dishes and wine glasses that were still in good condition.
The popular Italian restaurant that opened in 1993 was destroyed by an overnight fire on Nov. 27, 2016.
There were no injuries, but it took about 60 firefighters most of the night and the next morning to extinguish the flames.
The restaurant, which resembled a log house, was mostly made of wood and took little time to be completely engulfed in flames.
Police described the fire as “suspicious” but did not say if it was deliberately set.
