A 61-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening while crossing Jean-Talon St at the corner of Outremont Ave.
The [...] pedestrian was injured to the upper body and the head," said Montreal police Const. Daniel Lacoursiere. "Note that when he was transported [by ambulance], the man was conscious."
The man's injuries are described as serious but he is in stable condition in hospital, Lacoursiere added.
The accident occured around 7:30 p.m., and for several hours Jean-Talon and Outremont were closed near the intersection.
The 50-year-old driver was treated for shock at the scene. Alcohol and speed have been ruled out as factors in the incident.
