The Quebec government's plan to allow you to buy personalized licence plates was so popular, its online registration system crashed today - the first day the plates were available.
The Quebec Automobile Insurance Board sent out an advisory mid-morning saying they were having technical difficulties with the online ordering system for the vanity licence plates.
They said they are working on the problem and they expect the system to be up and running Monday at 7:30 a.m.
The board said some transactions did get through before everything crashed but they don't know how many.
The plate will cost you $250 and to renew it, you have to pay an annual fee of $34.50.
You can choose up to seven characters to personalize your plate.
