Saint-Jérôme police say the man and woman who were arrested following a home invasion last night had a permit to produce medical marijuana but not in the industrial quantities that were found in their home.
Police say they received a 9-1-1 call from a neighbour who spotted several men carrying large bags leaving the home at around 11 p.m. Thursday.
When patrol officers entered the house on Nancy Street they found a 53 year old woman who had been pepper sprayed and tied up and they also found about 400 marijuana plants, well above the legal limit for the permit she carried.
She was arrested.
Her 60-year old husband was also arrested a short time later when he arrived at the police station.
The thieves remain at large.
