Montreal police arrested one suspect and seized some drugs along with a firearm in connection with a shooting in N.D.G. Wednesday night.
At about 10:00 P.M. multiple people reported hearing what sounded like a fight, followed by screams and then gunshots right around Melrose Avenue and de Maisonneuve Boulevard.
When police arrived at the scene all they found were some shell casings on the ground. There was no victim and potential suspect had quickly fled the scene.
Not much else was known about the case.
Montreal police now say that a SPVM dog handler and his police dog Mounty were brought in to help search the area. With Mounty leading the way police managed to track down a suspect and arrest him. Officers also seized one kilogram of cocaine, some marijuana and a firearm believed to have been used in the initial shooting.
