Two Longueuil police officers were sent to hospital after attempting to arrest a driver on Route 116.
At about 5:00 A.M. officers stopped a vehicle on the eastbound Route 116 near Edouard Blvd.
During the stop, the officers found the 44-year-old man from St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
While attempting to arrest the man he tried to flee the scene, but his freedom was short lived as he violently collided with the passenger side of another police cruiser.
One of the officers was rushed to hospital with serious injuries to his upper body, his condition has since improved. The other was treated for shock.
The 44-year-old man was arrested; it is not yet known what charges he may face.
