There could be a break in the case of a Brossard mother who disappeared with her baby nearly three years ago.
On the morning of April 30, 2014, 42-year-old Jian Ping Li was last seen leaving her home with her six-month-old baby. She left without credit cards or car keys.
This morning, a large police contingent descended on her Brossard home — including Longueuil police, and a canine unit from the Ontario provincial police force which specializes in locating human remains.
Longueuil police say the search is based on new information they obtained.
The force set up a command post near her home two weeks ago, after they say they received new leads in the case.
Li's husband was home at the time police arrived. He was told to leave as police moved in.
Police say Li's husband passed a polygraph test, but someone else close to the family has refused to take the test.
