It may seem like one of those warnings that would make you say "well duh," but those warnings are there for a reason.
On Sunday a woman touring Jasper National Park got a lot closer to a black bear than she expected.
The woman was among many who stopped their car and exited their vehicle in order to grab the perfect picture.
The problem, black bears don't care about Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and would really prefer their privacy. A short video (shot by Stefan Jenart) shows the bear charging at the woman it deemed got too close.
Lucky for her, the bear backs down and she was able to walk away.
The recent incident has Parks Canada again reminding visitors to stay 100 metres from bears, wolves and cougars. You could also be fined up to $25,000 for feeding, enticing or disturbing wildlife in a National Park.
The agency had to issue a similar reminder around the same time last year, and the year before, after similar incidents were caught on camera.
