While LaSalle's École des Découvreurs reopened for students on Wednesday morning following Monday's carbon monoxide leak, many parents decided to keep their kids home.
The leak, apparently caused by a faulty heating system, led to 43 people, including 35 students, needing treatment in hospital.
While school officials insisted the school was safe, many parents weren't convinced.

"I think it's their job, their duty as a school board to make sure the kids are all in well standing," says mother Angelina. "I have a right to know that [my kids] are safe."
She said that the school did not do anything wrong, and she thinks they responded well when the situation presented itself.
However, she believes the school board needs to immediately hold an information session and explain to parents exactly what happened and what measures will be taken.
"No, I'm not going to bring [my daughter to school] today," said Patrick, another parent. "[Due to] lack of information, I don't feel personally — as a parent — I don't feel safe."

On Tuesday, the head of the Marguerite-Bourgeoys school board, Diane Lamarche-Venne, said that some of her board's schools already have carbon monoxide and methane detectors, but she'll make sure all schools get supplied with them.
In Quebec, it is not mandatory for certain buildings to have carbon monoxide detectors, although it is recommended.
Lamarche-Venne said the École des Découvreurs had a carbon monoxide detector, but it is unclear why it malfunctioned, as it was tested in October.
Several parents told CJAD 800 that they were involved in discussions on filing a criminal negligence complaint against the school and school board.
They said that one father had already opened a complaint with Montreal police — something the police department wasn't able to confirm or deny.
