A Sûreté du Québec sergeant working in Bellechasse, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, has been suspended, suspected of using a work computer illegally, according to the provincial police force.
The police officer was suspended with pay in accordance with his contract of employment, said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
He was relieved of his duties on December 15.
An investigation is under way to determine whether charges will be laid against the sergeant.
