Starbucks is going to eliminate plastic straws at its outlets in Seattle and Vancouver this fall.
The coffee chain has announced plans to quit using plastic straws in all of its North American locations within two years, citing the environmental threat to oceans.
The Seattle-based company says by 2020, it will be using straws made from biodegradable materials like paper and will also be using specially designed lids.
No word yet on when plastic straws will be eliminated from the beverage giant's Quebec outlets.
