If you rely on the STM to get around town, today should be the start of what the public transport agency hopes will be a great year.
Starting today the STM will increase the number of metros and busses running throughout its network.
Orange and Green lines will see a major boost during peak rush hours, with the transport agency promising you will never have to wait more than five minutes between metros right up until 10:30 P.M.
The promised extension of hours of operation for the blue line, which would add 30 minutes to the weekday schedule and 60 minutes on the weekend, will be implemented later on.
For bus users, 100,000 additional hours for more buses will be implemented into the existing schedule, with the bulk of the extra bus trips dedicated to lines that run through the Turcot Interchange, Bonaventure Expressway and Champlain Bridge areas.
